Sound Healing Immersion with Helen Halverson

Sound Healing Bath

Sunday, July 27th

7:00-8:30 PM at Luminous Gallery

Upstairs in the Cannery Landing building next to the ferry

Come and sink into the resonant frequencies of the Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls. This vibrational journey experience will float you into an altered state of consciousness. In this space you are open to many positively powerful influences. This session is a deep immersion into recalibration and creates higher cohesiveness. Please join us for this transformative soundscape.

The particulars:
Please bring a thick mat/lounge chair pad and a warm blanket so that you will be cozy on the floor for the duration. You may arrive up to 5 minutes before the start time to get settled in, but please no sooner. Bringing an open heart and mind with intentions to have a sweet experience will set the tone before you arrive.

During the 90 minute event, you will receive a brief introduction and setting the space before getting settled in, a short guided meditative journey and then the sounds begin. The sound experience itself is about an hour or so. Afterwards you are invited to enjoy tea, water and a healthy snack while chatting with me and your fellows, creating community. If you don't wish to socialize, you may slip away quietly.

How might I feel during and after the sound journey?
Individual experiences will vary. Most people find that they slip into a meditative state, feel deeply relaxed, release tensions and some even fall asleep. After, you may feel energized, sleepy or even emotional. It really depends on your energy and where you are in your life in the days leading up to a sound bath. However you may feel afterward, simply honor it. Rest if you feel tired, enjoy some silence if you feel called to, hydrate plenty, and refuel your body with fresh foods.

Etiquette
Please be aware that you will be in close quarters with other sound bathers. This event is held upstairs, if you require special accommodations, please reach out to me directly. This space is intended to be still and restful so that you and your fellows can sink deeply into a healing zone. Please use the bathroom before the start of the bath, be mindful of your own space and of the individuals around you so that everyone can receive the wellness that they seek from these sound healing journeys. Thank you for helping create an amazing experience.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Fire Cider Crafting with Pearl Schuman of Native Zest

Lets make Fire Cider together!

Homemade Fire Cider is great for improving digestion, building immunity, and keeping you and your loved ones well through the seasons.

Fire Cider is a tonic with deep roots in folk medicine that was brought to popularity by the American herbalist and author, Rosemary Gladstar. Fire cider has been consumed traditionally to ward off sore throats, colds, flu, chest congestion, and to promote circulation; which ignites a fire inside and aides the body in detoxification.

We use Apple Cider Vinegar (with Mother) as the base, then add warming, immune and circulatory enhancing, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral foods, and herbs. With time the medicinal properties are extracted into the vinegar.

We will learn the benefits of each ingredient offered, applications and how to make your own Fire Cider at home. All ingredients are included.

San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour

About the Studio Tour

The San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour was started in 1991 with the artists intention of opening their studios to the public for a weekend. We, the artists, wanted to show our friends and neighbors our unique lifestyles, our tools of the trade, and the artistic process from the conception of an idea to a finished work of art.

Our Studio Tour in June continues to be a popular event for residents and visitors to the island. We welcome you on this self guided tour. Many studios will be hosting guest artists in their otherwise solitary work spaces. There will be artist demonstrations and door prizes at each studio.

June is a beautiful time on San Juan Island. If you have come to visit be sure to enjoy the historic town of Friday Harbor, stay over night in one of our many lovely lodging facilities, and crisscross the island on our scenic roadways. Just as the island is vibrant with spring, the artists are eager to show off new work created over the winter months, much of which will be on view to the public for the very first time.

During the 90 minute event, you will receive a brief introduction and setting the space before getting settled in, a short guided meditative journey and then the sounds begin. The sound experience itself is about an hour or so. Afterwards you are invited to enjoy tea, water and a treat while chatting with me and your fellows while creating comradery.

Etiquette:
Please be aware that you will be in close quarters with other sound bathers. If you are sick with anything contagious, experiencing disruptive bodily issues, and/or are unable to sit or lay comfortably for an hour or more, please refrain from joining and attend a future event. This event is held upstairs, if you require special accommodations, please reach out to me directly. This space is intended to be still and restful so that you and your fellows can sink deeply into a healing zone. Please use the bathroom before the start of the bath, refrain from drinking water until afterward when possible, and be mindful of your own space and of the individuals around you so that everyone can receive the wellness that they seek from these sound healing journeys. Thank you for helping create an amazing experience.

If you are in your 1st trimester of pregnancy, experience seizures or severe tinnitus, have a pacemaker or other electronic implants, please consult your physician before attending sound healing events, as a safety measure.

I look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings, Helen
